Open Letter regarding Institutionalised Academic Discrimination
An open letter was sent to the Hon’ble MPs regarding institutionalised discrimination in IITs and IIMs. Posters defining the work done and progress made were designed and shared in all social media handles, on July 15th 2021. Thiru. Thol Thirumavalavan, MP of Chidambaram constituency, responded to our open letter (access here) and demanded proper implementation of reservations in higher educational institutions to the Union Minister of Education, on July 21st 2021.
1st Foundation Day
Egalitarians turned one on 15th July 2021. A casual meet-up was held in Chennai to celebrate the togetherness, and other members who couldn’t attend at the scheduled place joined the celebrations virtually.

Writer Thiru. Jeyamohan, our guest, delivered a lecture on Ambedkar’s Historical Approach (YouTube link) followed by a Q & A session on the virtual event held on 11th Apr 2021.
Special Guest in our Monthly Meeting
Prof. Hippu Salk Kristle Nathan joined our regular monthly meeting held on 14th Mar 2021. As the Founder and Secretary of PeFSSED, he shared his experiences in the PRICE initiative for instituting computer education centres in Adivasi and Dalit colonies.
Newsletter Release
Mr. B.Ramchandra CST Voltaire, released Egalitarians’ first newsletter on 10th Jan 2021. He also shared his experiences in the fight against caste, delivering a keynote address on the importance of inter-caste marriages in breaking the caste perpetuity and bringing about an egalitarian society.
